.COACH: not a 4-letter word

Coach is not a 4-letter word.

Life Coaching, Personal Coaching, Wealth Coaching, Business Coaching… As a result of the boom in my industry since I started out in 1997, and the low barriers to entry that have let a few charlatans hang out a shingle, some people gag on the word “coach.”

Not me.  I really draw from the long tradition of powerful support personnel who call forth the best in their clients and who are entirely dedicated to their clients’ success AND their evolution.  Yeah.  Coaches.

Your having a dedicated coach means you get results.  And it means that we pursue the path to results that takes you closer to your integrity, your truth, the growth and healing and service you came here to engage in.  You get to be more and more you, as both the path to and the product of your success.

Here’s the other cool thing about the coach metaphor.  Tiger Woods, Michael Phelps, or any other great athlete  you can name has enlisted the help of someone who they knew could make them more than they would become on their own.  Tiger started with the talent, but his coach was the one who held the space and made the requests, the challenges, the demands to help him deconstruct and reconstruct his swing, to become more than even his prodigious talent would help him be.

Difference is, if I’d been Tiger’s coach, I couldn’t have helped as much with his swing, but I’d have been the loving but direct voice saying “yes, you hold a ton of energy and that’d be tough for anyone.  But your way of managing it will destroy all you hold dear.  Course correct.”

As your coach, your muse, your mirror, I illuminate your blind spots.  I help you see things from perspectives no one else will.  I give you specific skills – and we drill on them! – to become the next evolution of you.  You’ll shock yourself.  And I’ll be delighted… but not surprised.
